The Montclarion is the weekly, independent student newspaper of Montclair State University. It was founded in 1928 as The Pelican. It strives to report on campus news, arts, opinions and sports. The Montclarion aims to provide an outlet for young journalists to hone their reporting skills and learn about newspaper layout and design, while building a clip book to show employers after graduation.
The Montclarion’s first year as an independent newspaper was 2008-2009 after a long battle between MSU’s Student Government Association for financial freedom.
Lori Wieczorek
Editor-in-Chief
Lori Wieczorek is in her first year as Editor-In-Chief of the
Montclarion. Prior to her new position she was Opinion Editor for two years.
She hopes to improve the student paper and to continue their tradition
of excellent writing and reporting.
Lindsay Rassman
Managing Editor
Lindsay Rassmann is a senior Broadcasting student and is in first year as Managing Editor of the Montclarion. She hopes to generate more original content for The Montclarion and expand the number of students who read the paper.
Carley Hussain
PRODUCTION EDITOR
Carley is a Senior Graphic Design Major, and this is her third year as Production Editor. Her hopes as the Production Editor is to make sure the paper is as visually stimulating and professional as it can be and also to successfully send it to the press to be printed and distributed.
Catherine Baxter
News Editor
Catherine Baxter is in her second year of working for the news section as editor. She hopes to bring important news and changes to the campus community. Catherine’s interest include drawing and creative writing.
Jessica Czarnogursky
Feature Editor
Jessica is in her first semester as Feature Editor. She hopes to improve content of her section and increase readership
Rashard Bradshaw
Arts and Entertainment Editor
Rashard is a Senior at MSU and it is his first year as Arts Editor. He hopes to add some creative flair to the section and keep the student body on the edge of pop culture.

Sports Editor
Nick is a Junior Broadcasting major in his second year as Sports Editor. He hopes to bring the Sports Section to new heights.
Nick Taylor
Chief Copy Editor
Nicholas Taylor is in his second year at The Montclarion and his first as Chief Copy Editor. A Humanities major, he focuses on every detail of this paper to insure no mistakes get printed.
Erica Krivda
Graphics Editor
Erica is a Junior Graphic Design major, and in her 2nd semester as Graphics Editor. She hopes to continue to provide clean and promotional graphics for the paper.

WEBMASTER and WEB EDITOR
Our mission is to bring The Montclarion into the age of new media, this includes the website as well as photos, videos, podcast and more.
Ian Elliott is a Senior, Broadcasting major at Montclair State, this is his third year as webmaster for The Montclarion, and his first year as Web Editor
