Over 100 Demonstrators Rally Against Proposition 8

C1C Continues to Plan for Montclairfest Despite Budget Cut

Class One Concerts is still planning for Montclairfest even though their budget has just been cut by 10 percent, and there is no money in their Montclairfest line. Earlier this week C1C launched a survey on MSU's electronic voting interface system (ELVIS) asking for student feedback on what bands they would like to come to campus.

Underage Drinking Issue Discussed at State Senate Hearing

New Jersey college administrators and campus police chiefs confronted the issue of underage drinking at a state Senate hearing in response to the Amethyst Initiative signed by three New Jersey college presidents. Dr. Karen Pennington, vice president for student development and campus life, and Chief Paul Cell represented Montclair State University at the hearing held by the State Education Committee.

Montclair State University's Professors Awarded Fulbright Scholar Awards For the Spring 2009 Academic Semester

Taylor, of the earth and environmental studies department, received the Fulbright Scholar Award for 2008-2009. Computers in Dickson Hall Room Cause Excess Heat

The computers are the source for the excess amount of heat in Room 277 in Dickson Hall, where the combination of the heat that is generated from them along with the heat that is pumped through the building is becoming "too much," according to Edward Chapel, the vice president for Information Technology.

Six Cars Damaged in Village Resident Lot

Six cars were found damaged due to criminal mischief in Lot 45, which is a Village Apartments resident parking lot, according to Lieutenant Kieran Barrett. Around 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 6. MSU police received a call from a resident who witnessed what she thought were eggs being thrown at cars.

Shuttle Bus Route Changes Put Into Effect, Additional Train Station Stop Added

Montclair State University bus routes have been increased to coincide for every train arrival time. Pick-up routes include, but aren't limited to, the N.J. Transit Station on Clove Road and the Montclair Heights Station across from the Normal Avenue intersection.

U. Hall Trash Can Fire in Bathroom

A trash can fire occurred last night in the men's bathroom on the second floor of University Hall, according to Michael Onder, assistant chief at the Little Falls fire department. "As soon as I walked out of my classroom on the second floor, I smelled smoke," said student Jimmy Reithmayr.
