Spring Break
For my first two years here at MSU, I was a mostly contented denizen of Freeman Hall. Sure, there were problems, but I realized that no college dorm is going to be perfect. At the end of my sophomore year, however, my friend and I decided that we wanted to upgrade to Russ Hall, a supposedly magical place where the floors are carpeted, the residents stay quiet and each room has its own air conditioning and heating unit.
The world of journalism in the media is changing in today's world, with technology and the Internet progressing at a rate that even 20 years ago, when I was sitting next to my dad hitting a broken keyboard, we could have only imagined. With the introduction of video streaming, user-generated content, social networking and podcasting, everyone has a way to share their opinion.
I have kept my mouth shut for the past three weeks. Those of you who know me know that this was an inordinately difficult task. I guess now's as good a time as any to open my trap. Barack Obama won the presidency by a landslide three weeks ago to become the 44th president in our country's history.
A serial arsonist has been plaguing the campus of Montclair State University in recent weeks, which has delayed classes and forced hundreds of students out into the winter cold. There have been seven occurrences of trash cans being set on fire this semester.
