Don?t think that the resignation of two SGA Cabinet members was something sudden, or something that hasn?t been brewing for longer than many of us may have thought. You?d be fooling yourselves.
The major reason that it seems as though there is no malice from Jacob Hudnut?s end and not from Ms. Nealis or Mr. Foster is because Veronica and Joe are being honest and up front with the students - they have nothing to hide.
Jacob would not take the chance to harm his perceived level of credibility by making a malicious statement in print. He?s too political for that. Jacob will not make an honest public statement about this matter because he is too busy talking about Veronica, Joe, and other members of the SGA (past and present) behind their backs, only to deny or ignore such charges when a comment gets back to the target.
I have been the victim of this on several occasions already, and as of now, despite numerous attempts on my part to meet with Jacob, he has not so much as returned with a phone call to set up a meeting. He?s too political for that. Veronica and Joe left the ?team? for a very simple reason - there is no ?team? anymore. The climate of the SGA has changed so drastically from what my friends tell me that it stopped being fun a long time ago- roughly around June or July.
You can?t ask people to be a part of something they don?t believe in anymore. Veronica and Joe are and always will be phenomenal leaders, and their honesty and ethics are a big reason why.
They made the most mature decision possible. They had goals too, one of which, was to further develop as dynamic student leaders. When that development was blocked or stifled by the current SGA administration, what were they supposed to do? Veronica and Joe will be back, and better than ever, and they will lead on their own terms and at their own pace, because that is part of their development- and we are, after all, college students - aren?t we here to LEARN something?
