Maybe he's psychic, maybe he had a dream, or maybe he's just good. Ryan "The Kid" Morgan, after scoring the game winning goal against NJCU on Saturday and earning a trip to the championship game against Ramapo, said, "All I know is my team is coming out on top tomorrow." This was in reference to the comments made before the game by Ramapo's men's soccer team, that came to watch as a victory over Stockton gave them the right to play in the ECAC championship game.

Adam Auriemma from Ramapo's soccer team, said, "We'd rather play Montclair because we tied them in the regular season, we beat NJCU 3 - 0, so we'd rather play Montclair to get back at them." Well he got his wish as Montclair showed what true champions are made of, coming back from a 2 - 0 deficit with under 25 minutes to play against NJCU.

Maybe the soccer gods were looking down on Morgan, but after scoring the game winner at NJCU, and guaranteeing a victory on the next day, he scored the game winner against Ramapo on Sunday, making sure that he was a man of his word. After a hard fought game "The Kid," maybe the fastest man at MSU, received the pass from another freshman, Illyas Tasci, and was able to put it in right in the middle.

The goal came in the 73rd minute of play, gave Morgan a team leading 12th goal, and 27th point of the season. "The Kid" was named the tournament's MVP who had three goals and one assist in three ECAC games. The third seeded Red Hawks earned their first ECAC title since 1993, and the third time overall. The team's record was 16 - 4 - 3, the 16 wins this season is the most since 1991 when the team won 15 games.

Coach Brian Sentowski and his boys are not going to miss a beat either, they are only losing three seniors, neither of which were among the top three in any statistic, and they have 24 players returning. Sentowski stands to make a bid for coach of the year, while Aviles, Morgan, Tasci, and Horan should all be no-brainers for the NJAC all conference teams.

Congratulations to the MSU men's soccer team on a game well played, a great season, and by the looks of it, many more to come. In only his second year coaching the team, Sentowski has made this team into a force to be reckoned with. Congratulations to him and his coaching staff on a job well done.
